Solution Manager- Setup Time Zone / Local Printer

 

Set up Time Zone.

This activity sets up the appropriate SAP instance time zone, which is aligned to the server’s time zone.

  • Access the activity using the following option

  • On the Change View “Customizing time zones”: Details screen, make the following entries:

  • In the Command field, enter transaction code SPAD and choose Enter.

  • On the Spool Administration: Output Device (Create) screen, on the Device/Attributes tab, make the following entries:

SAP Solution Manager Self Diagnosis

 

This function identifies SAP Solution Manager and solution landscape problems and takes appropriate action.

Prerequisites

  • You have created at least one solution.

  • Make the settings required in the transaction SOLUTION_MANAGER · Settings · Self-Diagnosis , to specify which alert types are to be analyzed in the self-diagnosis. To check Solution Manager functions, e.g. Configuration or Service Plan, with the self-diagnosis, choose their alert types in the Alert Types by Function tab.

You can perform self diagnosis at various levels:

  • For the SAP Solution Manager

  • For the SAP Solution Manager and a solution

Activities

  1. Choose the transaction SOLUTION_MANAGER.

    You go to the SAP Solution Manager: Active Solutions screen.

  2. Proceed as follows as you require:

    • To perform self diagnosis for the SAP Solution Manager continue from step 3.

    • To perform self diagnosis for the SAP Solution Manager and a solution, choose the solution.

  3. Choose Goto · Self Diagnosis .

    You get an overview of all self diagnosis logs in the system and the restricted functions. The system displays the solution status in cross-solution selbf-diagnosis.

    You can display long texts for yellow and red alerts, below the Help column.

42.  Determine who has batch access S_BDC_MONIS_BDC_ALLS_BTCH_ADMS_BTCH_ALLS_BTCH_USRBatch log files (bdc/logfile) should be reviewed and any deletions, modifications, or abended sessions subject to investigation and should be secured through the correct use of the operating system security. 

43.     List users with authorization for SM04, SM50 (S_TSKH_ADM) which grants access to the transaction locking function.  Determine which transactions are locked on the production system by viewing additional authority checks in table TSTC (Tools>Administration>Tcode Administration).  Ensure that at a minimum the following transactions are locked:

45.  Determine if Spool access is properly restricted. Verify who has the authorization object S_ADMI_FCD, S_SPO_ACT, and S_SPO_DEV 

46.  Determine if backup procedures are appropriate for data and programs On-line and off-line backups of all the file servers can be controlled through the CCMS.  Access to these transactions should be restricted, because these transactions can causes all file servers to shut down. Is access to the SAP archiving function restricted. (Verify which profiles have access to transaction F040). 

47.     Determine who has access to the SAP customizing system (IMG, menu customizing)

 S_A.CUSTOMIZ              The profile gives all authorizations required for the Basis activities in the customizing menu.  (Table USR10 gives an overview of all authorization objects in a profile.)
